Often times users of the Amazon Web Services Relational Database Service find it necessary to migrate databases between RDS instances. There are a number of well documented ways that this can be accomplished. This post is intended to address the use of the mysqldump command-line tool for this purpose. Below is a step by step guide for completing a dump of the MySQL databases from one AWS RDS instance followed by an import of the data into another AWS RDS instance.
